Palmer was one of the worst abuse cases that we’ve ever seen, and was rescued many years ago by Hopefield founders, Paula & Ernie. It’s hard to believe that this is the same pony who lay down cowering in fear of any kind of human contact when he arrived. These days Palmer is first in line for a fuss! 

Even the heaviest downpour won’t stop Tacugama’s efforts to provide their 120 resident chimpanzees with better living conditions. Here, Mr. Michael and his apprentice are hard at work on a new extension to the dens by the Old C enclosure. This addition will help Tacugama integrate the recently arrived chimps into the existing groups.

This young rhino calf was recently washed away after heavy flooding in Assam, India. The team at Wildlife Trust of India worked together with the help of other responders to rescue and move the calf to their Centre for Wildlife Rehabilitation and Conservation for rehabilitation. With their expert care, we look forward to seeing this growing rhino return to the wild as soon as he’s ready.

For the past six months, baby Bani has been receiving intensive care at the Wildlife SOS Elephant Hospital. Despite all the challenges and adversity she has been through, her spirit remains strong. Each day, her mischievous and joyful personality shines through, making everyone smile as she playfully keeps her caregivers on their toes.
