For over thirty years, Tusk has supported forward-thinking and successful conservation work in Africa. Under the patronage of HRH The Duke of Cambridge, the Tusk Trust partner with Africa’s leading and emerging conservationists to protect endangered species, reduce human-wildlife conflict, find sustainable solutions to preserve critical habitats and combat the global demand for illegal wildlife products.
The Tusk Trust NGO have helped pioneer an impressive range of successful conservation initiatives across more than 20 countries, increasing vital protection for over 10 million acres of land and more than 40 threatened species. From the savannahs of Kenya to the deserts of Namibia, Tusk are working towards a future in which people and wildlife can thrive across the African continent.
“I co-founded Tusk in 1990 at the height of the last poaching crisis in Africa when 100,000 elephants were being slaughtered every year for ivory. I am immensely proud of what the charity has achieved since its humble beginnings, but we cannot afford to be complacent as Africa’s wildlife still faces many challenges.
“The future for Tusk is about ensuring the long-term survival of the continent’s incredible wildlife and using conservation to support the livelihoods of the people of Africa. We simply cannot be the generation that lets Africa’s unique wildlife disappear on our watch and we are very grateful to our generous supporters for enabling us to achieve our goals.”
