The International Tiger Project (ITP) is a not-for-profit project for tiger conservation, rainforest protection and local community partnerships, in order to protect and save the entire ecosystem and biodiversity of habitats shared by tigers.

The International Tiger Project was formed with a key mission; to ensure the survival of all tiger species in their natural habitat by undertaking genuine, measurable and effective tiger conservation.

The organisation provides technical and financial assistance directly to on-the-ground conservation projects. The objectives of the ITP have many flow-on effects that both protect other Critically Endangered species, such as the orangutan, elephant and rhino, as well as indigenous communities and the remaining rainforest in Sumatra.

Operating under the umbrella of Wildlife Conservation International Limited, the International Tiger Project is a sister project to The Orangutan Project and the International Elephant Project.

The projects funded by Wildlife Conservation International not only include direct species conservation, but also forest habitat protection and regeneration, education, research and local community partnerships. Tying funding into direct outcomes for species has enabled Wildlife Conservation International to partner with the majority of conservation projects operating on the ground today in Borneo and Sumatra.
